# Building your website

**No website yet, or ready for a new one? Build it with Bookingmood. Guests browse your units and book directly, and everything stays in sync with your calendars. This guide takes you from an empty website to one that's live on your own domain.**

Each website is billed as part of your subscription. To take bookings on it, you need the _Booking_ plan.

## [1. Prepare your units](#1-prepare-your-units)

Your website shows the images, descriptions and attributes of your units. Fill them in under each unit's _Appearance_ tab, see [Appearance](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/units/appearance). Add translations under [Translations](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/translations) if you have guests from abroad.

## [2. Create the website](#2-create-the-website)

- Go to _Channels_ and click _New channel_.
- Choose a _Single-unit website_ for one unit, or a _Multi-unit website_ with search and filters for several.
- Enter a title and a subdomain.

## [3. Choose the units](#3-choose-the-units)

Under _Listings_, add the units to show and set the address of each unit's page. See [Listings](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/channels/websites/listings).

## [4. Set the look](#4-set-the-look)

Under _Theme_, upload your logo and icon, choose a cover image and set your colors. See [Theme](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/channels/websites/theme).

## [5. Add pages](#5-add-pages)

Edit the _Home page_ and add pages such as _About us_ or _Surroundings_. Add them to the _Navigation_, fill in the search engine title and description, and publish them. See [Pages](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/channels/websites/pages).

## [6. Set up booking](#6-set-up-booking)

Under _Settings_, choose what guests see _After booking_ and whether they can book several units at once. Make sure your units have [rent prices](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/rent-and-restrictions/rent-prices) and a [booking form](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/booking-form).

## [7. Go live on your own domain](#7-go-live-on-your-own-domain)

Under _Settings_, enter your domain under _Custom domain_ and add the DNS records at your domain provider. While you're still building, you can protect the website with a password. See [Settings](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/channels/websites/settings).
