# Deposits, discounts and installments

**Fees in the booking form, like the rent, can have a refundable deposit, discounts and a payment schedule. Open a unit, go to** _**Booking form**_ **and open a field with a price.**

## [Refundable deposit](#refundable-deposit)

A deposit is paid by the guest as security, for example for a hot tub, and returned after the stay.

- Click _+ Deposit_.
- Enter the amount.
- Set the _Deposit refund policy_: the _Moment_ the deposit should be returned, such as 7 days after departure.

Bookingmood shows deposits that are due for return under _Refunds_, but doesn't return them automatically. See [Refunds](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/payments/refunds).

## [Discounts](#discounts)

- Click _+ Discount_.
- Enter a _Fixed amount_ or a _Percentage_.
- Add a precondition, for example a booking duration of at least 7 nights or an arrival in a season.

## [Installments](#installments)

By default, a fee is paid with the rest of the booking. To have guests pay it at another moment, or in parts:

- Click _+ Installment_.
- Choose a _Moment_, such as _At confirmation_, _30 days before arrival_ or _On-site_, and the part of the fee due then.

The last installment is automatically adjusted so the full amount is charged. When the installments of a fee differ from those of the rent, guests see separate payments in the payment schedule. See [Booking payments](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/payments/booking-payments).
