Comments about this property We loved our stay in this cozy, homely house in Grantown. It was very well equipped with everything that you would need - including lots of games, books and info about the local area. The weather was beautiful during our week and we enjoyed sitting out in the back garden. Very central location, close to shops, restaurants and cafes. Also close to nice walks that can be done straight from the door. Tips for other travellers We got a fish supper from the Royal Fish Bar - delicious. We also got a takeaway from the Thai restaurant Po Pia virtually next door to the house (nb I would recommend booking in, even for a takeaway - it's very popular - with good reason). There are lovely short walks in the local Anagach Woods. We hired bikes at Cairngorm Activities. I would also recommend a trip to Ballindalloch Castle - interesting castle and beautiful gardens (also tearoom and shop). KJ Bakery slightly out of town on a small industrial estate (open Wed-Sat) - definitely worth a visit - delicious bread and amazing cakes. We also hired kayaks on Loch Morlich.

Fantastic! We've stayed in dozens of holiday cottages and this was one of the best. Fantastic location in a perfect little town with lots of cafes and shops including a very well stocked Co-op. The house was really well equipped, warm and comfortable, having 2 toilets was really useful and the garden was surprisingly large and dog proof for our large old dog (it may not be for a smaller more agile dog). Very responsive owners and very clean. Lovely walks from the house through the woods to the river. I'd definitely stay again and that's very rare!

Fabulous property in the middle of Grantown on Spey How lucky I was to stumble across this property when I was looking for a place to stay in the area. The owners were very responsive and the booking was easy to arrange. The house was easy to find, and remarkably quiet inside given its central location. It was beautifully clean, and well equipped for the five of us (parents, one adult daughter, 2 teenagers)plus dog. Small dishwasher and a washing machine were definite bonuses. All beds really comfortable and we all liked our bedrooms! The dog enjoyed use of the garden, which was clean, and secure enough for him. I think you might have to keep an eye on smaller dogs in the garden as the fencing at the back might not be totally secure - ours is a Schnauzer and it kept him in easily. There were a few occasions when there was a real chill in the air but the heating was easy to control and very effective - the place was warm very quickly. One negative is the WiFi can be a bit flaky at times but to be honest we were expecting a bit of drop out given the location; in reality it was fine for us and our screen hungry off-spring. There is so much to do in the area and the house makes a great base for exploring. Would definitely book here again, we loved it!

Beautiful house, dog friendly, great location This beautiful House, with some lovely original features, and dog friendly garden, is in the lovely Grantown on Spey. There are many great things to do on the doorstep, museum, and river and forest walks. Amenities such as co-op, and several takeaways within walking distance, along with some lovely places to eat out. We especially enjoyed the Wee Puffin (dog friendly). There are also some great independent small shops. If you don't mind a little bit of a drive it is within reach of loch Ness, several castles and some amazing countryside. We loved our holiday and would definitely return, plenty more left to explore.
