# Coupons

**Give your guests a discount on their booking with coupon codes for special promotions or special guests.**

When you've set up at least one coupon in the admin panel, your booking forms automatically include a _Coupon_ field.

## [Adding coupon codes](#adding-coupon-codes)

- Go to _Coupons_.
- Click _+ Coupon_.
- Fill in the details and confirm.

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| _Code_ | The code guests enter to get the discount |
| _Description_ | For your own reference; guests don't see it |
| _Definition_ | The discount, as an amount or percentage. It can have restrictions and be split, like [rent prices](https://www.bookingmood.com/en-US/docs/rent-and-restrictions/rent-prices) |
| _Stackable_ | _Allow stacking with other coupons_ in the same booking |
| _Quota_ | How many times the code can be used, or _Unlimited_ |
| _Scope_ | The units and fees the coupon applies to, see below |

## [Scopes](#scopes)

Coupons can apply to various scopes. For example, you might want a coupon for rent only, or one that waives cleaning fees.

Coupons always apply after other discounts. Depending on the selected scope, they interact differently with taxes:

- _**Global**_: Valid for all units. Applies to the booking total after taxes, so it does not affect tax amounts.
- _**Selected units (booking total)**_: Valid for selected units. Applies to the booking total after taxes, so it does not affect tax amounts.
- _**Selected units (rent only)**_: Valid for selected units. Applies to the rent only, before taxes.
- _**Selected services**_: Valid for selected services from the booking form. Applies to the fees of all selected services, before taxes. If the coupon applies to multiple services in the same booking form, its discount is computed for each of the services.

## [Deactivate a coupon](#deactivate-a-coupon)

Open the coupon and click _Deactivate coupon_ to stop accepting the code without deleting it. Click _Reactivate coupon_ to accept it again, or _Delete coupon_ to remove it.
